DETROIT (WWJ) – A Detroit man has been charged with first-degree murder for allegedly stabbing his father multiple times.
Shahriss Amir Muhammad, 33, is accused of stabbing his father, 71-year-old Samuel Logan, multiple times in the head and torso, according to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office.
Detroit police were called to a home in the 6340 block of Curtis Street – near Livernois on the city's west side – on March 19. When officers arrived, they found Logan inside the home with multiple stab wounds.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The prosecutor's office alleges Muhammad stabbed his father and then fled the scene, but officials have not released any word on a possible motive in the slaying.
Muhammad is due back in court on April 7.
