DETROIT (WWJ) -- Dr. Devon Hoover was one of Detroit's most well-respected doctors who lived in one of the city's most beautiful mansions in the Boston-Edison District.
But all of that came crashing down last spring when he was found brutally murdered inside of his house.
Hoover, who worked at Ascension Healthcare at St. John Hospital in Detroit, was discovered dead in the attic of his home on April 23, 2023. Officials said the 53-year-old's body was wrapped in a sheet, and an autopsy concluded that he'd suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his head.
Authorities have never disclosed a possible motive for the slaying, but Detroit Police Chief James White has said investigators do believe the doctor knew his killer, and that this was not the result of a home break-in or a random act.
At one point, DPD arrested a "person of interest" on an unrelated charge. That unnamed person was eventually released, and no charges were filed in connection with Hoover's death.
So who killed the beloved Detroit neurosurgeon -- and will his murder ever be solved?
On a new episode of The Daily J podcast, WWJ's Christy Strawser and Zach Clark dig into the quest for justice for Dr. Hoover.
