A woman celebrating her birthday died in a house fire in Michigan's Thumb.
The Huron County Sheriff's Department said the woman, identified as Terry Glowacki, was drinking throughout the day yesterday in celebration of her 60th birthday.
And then a fire broke out, and when firefighters arrived they said she was found dead near the door of the home that was engulfed in flames.
So, what happened?
A friend told firefighters in St. Austin that she was talking to Glowacki at about 7 p.m. and "there was some indication the victim smelled smoke at the time."
Investigators said the home was being heated by space heaters and that likely caused the blaze.
