ZACH STRIEF launched a new era in WWL Saints Radio history in 2018, when he became the “Voice of the Saints,” after 30 year veteran Jim Henderson retired. The 12-year Saints offensive tackle and 5-time team captain was an integral part of the 2009 New Orleans Saints team that beat the Indianapolis Colts 31-17 to win Super Bowl XLIV. Strief was also First-team All Pro in 2013.

Zach’s from Cincinnati, Ohio. He graduated from one of America’s most esteemed colleges Northwestern University, where he was a First team All-American in 2005 and a three time all-Big Ten performer. Strief was a 7th round NFL draft pick in 2006, who won over the Saints top brass and teammates like his former teammate and current broadcast partner, Deuce McAllister, through smarts, hard work and determination.

Just as Zach loves the Black & Gold, he loves the City of New Orleans. Zach married a local girl, Charlotte Discon. In January 2018 they welcomed their first child, Rhey Thomas Strief. In addition to broadcasting, Strief’s post-football life includes owning Port Orleans Brewing Company, a brewery created in a former storage warehouse in uptown New Orleans. Zach is also deeply devoted to a number of local charities including Team Gleason, a non-profit established by former Saint Steve Gleason and dedicated to research & awareness of ALS. Strief even produced Gleason IPA to benefit the charity.
