According to On3.com, LSU’s 2024 recruiting class has one five-star recruit, Acadiana defensive tackle Dominick McKinley.
But LSU is off to a great start with its 2025 class, as they’ve already received commitments from two five-star recruits. The latest came this week from St. Martin’s running back Harlem Berry. He’s ranked as the number one running back in the country.
The 6-foot, 185-pounder is a great combination of power, quickness, and speed. Texas and Florida are also after the New Orleans product, who rushed for 2,080 yards last season and had 47 touchdowns in 11 games. He also caught 20 passes for 401 yards.
LSU’s other five-star recruit in the 2025 class is wide receiver Dakorien Moore from Duncanville, Texas. Moore committed to LSU in August, and he’s ranked as the nation’s number one wide receiver. Moore is 5-11, 175 pounds.
He had 61 catches for 1,243 yards and 14 touchdowns this past. LSU will fight off Texas to make sure he signs with LSU next December.
On Saturday, LSU could receive a verbal pledge from the nation’s top quarterback in the Class of 2025. Byrce Underwood is a five-star prospect out of Michigan. He stands 6-foot-3 ½, 205 pounds.
In three seasons as the starting quarterback at Belleville High School, he’s led the Tigers to two state championships. In his junior season, he threw for 3,165 yards and 40 touchdowns and two interceptions.
LSU is a favorite to get Underwood’s commitment. Michigan already has a quarterback committed in its 2025 class, Carter Smith from Fort Myers, Florida.
There’s still a long way to go, but LSU’s 2025 class is ranked as the second best behind Georgia.
According to on3.com, LSU’s 2023 class was ranked as the 5th best, the 2024 class is ranked 7th and the Tigers are in really good position to at least have another top five class in 2025.
There was talk that Coach Brian Kelly would struggle to recruit in the South, but it appears he and his staff are holding their own.
