Three people were shot and two died in two separate shootings in the 9th Ward that happened within one hour of each other.
The first shooting happened around 4:18 p.m. in the 1200 block of Lamanche Street. Officers responded to a call of shots fired in the area. When they arrived on the scene they found two adult male victims suffering from an undetermined number of gunshot wounds.
One of the victims died at the scene. The second victim was transported to a local hospital.
No further information is available at this time. The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will determine the official cause of death and release the victims’ names after the completion of an autopsy and the notification of the families.
Then, at about 5:28 p.m. another fatal shooting happened not far from the first reported shooting. This time, it happened in the 900 block of Andry Street.
When responding officers arrived, they discovered an unresponsive adult male victim suffering from an undetermined number of gunshot wounds. The victim died at the scene.
