NOPD seeking new suspect in December murder of comedian

Boogie B Murder Suspect
New Orleans Police Department

New Orleans police say they are seeking a third suspect in the deadly shooting of a comedian outside a downtown grocery store late last year.

Brandon “Boogie B” Montrell died in that shooting outside the Rouse’s Market on Baronne Street on December 23. Already, one suspect, Jabril Cowart, is in custody on a second-degree murder charge in connection with the case. Another suspect, Dyamonique Smith, is in custody on an accessory charge.

Now, NOPD investigators say they are seeking yet another suspect they believe was involved in the shooting. Officers released a photo of that suspect taken by surveillance cameras in the area of the shooting.

If you know who this suspect is or if you have any information about the case, call the NOPD at 504-658-5300 or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
