New Orleans police have arrested suspects in connection with two double homicides, including one that happened at the Nine Times second line parade three weeks ago.
According to NOPD officials, authorities arrested Curtis Gray at his home in Jefferson Parish this morning after they obtained a warrant for his arrest. Gray will face two counts of second-degree murder once he is transferred from Jefferson Parish to Orleans Parish. Gray is accused of shooting an killing Rasean Carter and Malachi Jackson at the November 18 second-line parade.
During an NOPD press conference, Jefferson Parish Sheriff Joe Lopinto said that his deputies executed the search warrant on Walnut Creek Road in Marrero and arrested Gray without incident. Orleans Parish District Attorney Jason Williams said tips from the community helped police crack the case.
Authorities also said they arrested Cornelius Tillman and Darrell Fairley are facing murder charges in connection with a deadly double shooting that happened last Saturday in New Orleans East. The pair is accused of shooting and killing Wayne Orsin and Rashada Richardson on Tara Lane. NOPD Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick says her officers worked with Louisiana State Police and the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office to make these arrests.
