The 25-year-old driver of a car that hit and killed a woman riding a motorcycle was arrested after the late Wednesday crash in the Loop.
Charges are pending but have been announced by police early Thursday.
The crash happened around 11:30 p.m. in the 400 block of South DuSable Lake Shore Drive as the southbound car crashed into the motorcycle, which was also southbound.
The motorcyclist, a 49-year-old woman, was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where she died, police said. Her name has not been released.
