The loans through the U.S. Small Business Administration will provide qualifying homeowners, renters, businesses and certain nonprofit organizations with assistance for damages caused by the July 27th storms not covered by insurance.
The disaster declaration includes the counties of Cook, DuPage, Grundy, Kane, Kankakee, Kendall, Lake, McHenry and Will---as well as Lake County, Indiana.
People can apply for a low-interest loan online at sba.gov/disaster.
The SBA also has established a Disaster Loan Outreach Center at the Chicago Public Library at 11001 S. Indiana Avenue; and at the Village of Hazel Crest Office at 3601 W. 183rd Street.
People can apply in-person for low-interest loans at those locations through September 3rd.
