The World Cup final in 2026 to purportedly be held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington

A championship game may be coming very soon to AT&T Stadium in Arlington!

The Cowboys won't be in it, although it will be a football game.  Or rather, fútbol.

The finals of the 2026 World Cup will reportedly take place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, as reported by the Daily Mail.

Even further, FIFA, the international governing body of soccer, will reportedly be making its base of operations throughout the duration of the World Cup in Texas.

AT&T Stadium's ability to expand capacity to some 100,000 spectators was apparently a big factor in FIFA's decision.  AT&T Stadium etched out New York's MetLife Stadium, where both the New York Giants and Jets play their home games.

Other venues across all of North America will host games.  The opening match will reportedly take place at Mexico's iconic Azteca Stadium, where Diego Maradona scored his legendary 'Hand of God' goal for Argentina against England during the 1986 contest.

The World Cup will kick off in June, 2026.
