Passengers on select American Airlines flights will soon have another option to eat beyond chicken or fish.

Beginning in February, first-class passengers on American Airlines flights from Dallas to New York will be able to enjoy a plate of Pecan Lodge barbecue, one of the state’s most celebrated BBQ joints.

According to NBC DFW, the in-flight meal will feature a barbecue platter with smoked brisket and sausage, creamy mac and cheese, coleslaw, pickles and onions, all topped off with Pecan Lodge’s signature sauce.

In March, the menu will shift to a chopped brisket sandwich on a brioche bun, with roasted green beans, and creamy potato salad.

Rhonda Crawford, American’s senior vice president of customer experience design and strategy, said in a statement on the company’s website, “As we celebrate American’s centennial anniversary in 2026, we’re looking forward to delighting our customers in new ways that honor unique regional tastes, beginning right here in our home state through one of the most beloved barbecue restaurants in Texas.”
