Air Taxis are coming to Funky Town.
Joby Aviation has recently signed a lease for a 45,000-square-foot space at the Alliance Airport for the “manufacturing and testing of air taxis.”
According to Community Impact, this lease is the first in North Texas by an electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVOTL) aircraft manufacturer.
Christopher Ash, president of Alliance Aviation Companies, said in a statement, “Joby’s presence at Perot Field is a significant milestone for the airport and for North Texas aviation.
“By locating within the AllianceTexas Mobility Innovation Zone, Joby helps validate the collaborative work happening here and advances the integration of eVTOL technology across the region’s transportation network.”
