The city of Dallas is looking for a new city manager after former city manager T.C. Broadnax resigned after seven years.
A brochure was created to advertise the position but before it was sent out, an Ad Hoc Committee, including five city council members and representatives of Baker Tilly, was put together to review it, and council members noticed something peculiar about the image on the front.
Councilmember Tennell Atkins said, "I don't know where they got the picture from, but all we're saying is that picture doesn't represent the city of Dallas.
"When we look at it, my eyes, your eyes, everybody's eyes that look at it, you say 'Hey, this is not representing the city of Dallas."
The image did not feature Reunion Tower or the Pegasus at all, which would have been pretty difficult as the skyline used in the brochure was that of Houston's, and not Dallas!
District 12 Councilmember Cara Mendelsohn said, "I didn't know it was Houston but that's kind of disturbing. I would want them (Baker Tilly) to be uniquely working on our project, I think they are. Hopefully, they're focused on the content."
According to NBC DFW, representatives from Baker Tilly told the committee it could resubmit a new version of the brochure by Wednesday, which would allow them to review it before publishing it for candidates on September 3.
