If there's one thing Dallasites won't skimp on, it's a good meal.
A new study from Escoffier.edu, the website of the Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts, found that Dallas residents spend more money dining out than any other city in the state of Texas!
Dallas placed sixth overall in the list of 22 major U.S. metros, where we spend about $1007.58 per year, or about $84 per month, eating out.
According to CultureMap Dallas, Dallasites spend nearly three percent of their total pre-tax income on dining out.
The No. 1 metro in the U.S. was Honolulu, Hawaii, where locals spend a little more than $1,260 per year on dining out at restaurants.
We have to imagine that all of the restaurants in Dallas that will soon be awarded Michelin Stars will incentive residents to go out even more.
The only other Texas city to make the top 10 was Houston which came in at No. 9, with residents spending about $776 on dining out annually, or nearly $65 monthly.
