The Dallas Symphony Orchestra features some of the best musicians DFW has to offer, but sadly not everyone in the metroplex is a fan of classical music. That’s why they have decided to spice up their playlist a bit and add something audience members will definitely enjoy. This weekend, the orchestra will host a concert, performing a mashup of Tchaikovsky and Drake.
On Saturday, Meyerson Symphony Center will sound like it never has before. That’s because the Dallas Symphony Orchestra will be performing ‘The Music of Tchaikovsky X Drake.’ “These are both actually very romantic, very sentimental, very hard on the sleeve composers that are very forthright with those emotions,” said Steve Hackman, conductor and creator of the show.
According to NBC DFW, the show will benefit the orchestra’s education programs that provide free music and free instruments to students.

There are still limited tickets available to the March 4 event. While most probably never thought they would hear classical music and hip hop combined, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra is ready to give it a try.
Maybe this will even spark a new music genre.
