Foo Fighters helped reopen Madison Square Garden over the weekend, and of course they couldn’t do so without bringing some surprise guests along with them for fans to enjoy. The biggest surprise of the night came when comedian Dave Chappelle joined the band on stage. However, instead of a quick comedy break, Chappelle actually joined the Foo Fighters for a cover of Radiohead’s ‘Creep.’
Dave Chappelle was taken out of his comfort zone on Sunday, although it was hard to tell, as the comedian sang Radiohead’s ‘Creep’ with the Foo Fighters in front of a full capacity crowd at Madison Square Garden in New York. Chappelle has actually performed the song live on a number of occasions, but none as big as the Foo Fighters concert over the weekend. According to Consequence, Chappelle was in town for the premiere of his documentary.
Many fans, especially those in attendance, were stunned by the performance. While no one is expecting Chappelle to give up his career in comedy for a new job as a singer, fans were excited to see the comedian hit the stage with the band. Maybe fans can expect a bit more singing during Chappelle’s comedy sets now.
