There have been plenty of classic movie franchises rebooted over the last few years. While some fans may be tired of all the revivals, Hollywood continues to turn to nostalgia for new content. Now, a franchise that was just recently brought back may soon be getting another reboot. Don Cheadle revealed recently director Steven Soderbergh is working on a new idea for the ‘Ocean’s’ franchise.
While the ‘Ocean’s’ franchise already had a reboot back in 2018, with the female-driven ‘Ocean’s 8,’ the trilogy from the 2000’s may now be returning as well. Actor Don Cheadle, who starred as British explosives expert Basher in Steven Soderbergh’s ‘Ocean’s’ trilogy, recently said he has spoken with the director about a potential sequel, according to NME. “We were talking about it [after Ocean’s Thirteen], and then Bernie [Mac] passed, and very quickly we were like, ‘No, we don’t want to do it,’ but I just did a movie with Steven and he said, ‘I think there may be a way to do it again. I’m thinking about it,’” said Cheadle.
While no details were given about the project, ‘Ocean’s’ fans were excited to hear something new may be on the horizon. Until then, fans will just have to watch one of the many other ‘Ocean’s’ films that have been made.
