When it was announced earlier this year that Buc-ee’s was building their largest store outside of the Lone Star State, many Texans were offended. With a state slogan like “everything’s bigger in Texas,” it made no sense for the Texas road trip staple to go bigger away from home. Luckily, Buc-ee’s is now looking to right their wrong, with plans to build a new store in Hillsboro that will match their largest location currently being built in Tennessee.
After years of treating Texans to clean bathrooms, cheap gas and delicious snacks, Buc-ee’s has started to expand with locations in Alabama, Florida and Georgia, along with more planned for Kentucky, South Carolina, Colorado, Mississippi, Missouri and Tennessee. Luckily, that doesn’t mean they are done with Texas, as Buc-ee’s recently announced plans for a 5th location on I-35. The new location is expected to be located where I-35W from Fort Worth and I-35E from Dallas come together, according to Dallas Morning News.

While the new location is yet to be made official, the Hillsboro City Council is expected to approve the Buc-ee’s addition. The only thing holding the deal up is the 125-foot tower with the beaver on top, which is 25 feet taller than the city allows. Hopefully it is approved so Texas can go back to claiming the country’s largest Buc-ee’s.
