Residents of the Valley Ranch neighborhood in Irving are taking matters into their own hands regarding the recent invasion of feral hogs.

Folks have been dealing with the hogs tearing up their land looking for food.  Resident Kathy Martin told WFAA, "Hogmageddon. That sums it up."

Since the hogs aren't being tempted by the traps set up by wildlife officials, a few Valley Ranch residents, including Martin, built a custom electric fence that will hopefully keep the pigs off their property.

And they've dubbed this DIY contraption…The Baconator!

Tom Caron said of his neighborhood's new hog-defying fortress, "You have to take matters into your own hands," he said. "It's like we can see the damage coming slowly -- like watching a hurricane come through."

"We had to do something," Martin added.
