Back in 2020, Taco Bell fans were stunned when the fast food chain announced they would be removing the Mexican Pizza from the menu. This led to a massive revolt, an online petition, and the eventual return of the popular dish. Apparently the company that owns Taco Bell, Yum! Brands, didn’t learn their lesson with the Mexican Pizza, as another one of the beloved fast food chains recently announced they will be removing a popular menu item at the beginning of 2023.

KFC recently announced they will begin phasing out popcorn chicken from their menu in 2023. The item has been on the menu since 1992, and though it has been dropped and brought back a few times, the fast food chain has found a replacement this time. According to The Street, popcorn chicken will be replaced by chicken nuggets on the menu.

The new menu item will be made with all white meat and with bigger pieces than the popcorn chicken. Still, many devout fans were upset by the decision. Hopefully for those fans, they are loud enough to make KFC pull a Taco Bell, and bring it back once again.
