For years, Dallas Love Field has been seen as the more convenient North Texas airport, with fewer crowds and less space to maneuver. However, it appears that could be coming to an end as Southwest and other airlines plan their busiest year at Love Field ever. Between Southwest bringing back a number of nonstop flights, and an additional gate for Delta Air Lines and Alaska Airlines, travelers may want to start getting to the airport earlier than normal.
DFW-based Southwest Airlines recently announced plans to back a handful of nonstop flights that weren’t on the schedule a year ago. The airline will now travel to Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Louisville, Palm Springs and Minneapolis, which is expected to add more flights to the Dallas Love Field schedule. According to Dallas Morning News, the airline plans on having over 200 flights a day from Love Field during the busiest part of summer.

Along with Southwest, Delta and Alaska also plan to add flights to the schedule now that they have two gates at the airport. While travelers will have more options than ever before, it should also increase the amount of crowds at the airport. Hopefully this doesn’t lead to anymore issues for the airline industry.
