When it was first announced DFW would finally be getting an H-E-B, many throughout the metroplex rejoiced. Now, more details about the impending grocery store have emerged. With ground breaking on the McKinney location this week, the Texas-based grocery chain informed the city when locals can expect to begin shopping, and what they can expect to find in-store.
H-E-B executive vice president over North Texas, said Juan-Carlos Rück, was on hand for the McKinney ground breaking this week, where he discussed the new location. According to Dallas Morning News, Rück informed the city the store is expected to be open by summer 2023. The grocery store is expected to bring more than 500 jobs to McKinney.

Along with the opening date, it was also announced the McKinney location will include one of H-E-B’s True Texas BBQ restaurants, fuel pumps, a drive-through pharmacy and a large dedicated curbside pickup area. “With H-E-B, they came to my office and wanted to know where and what were the needs in the community,” said McKinney Mayor George Fuller. By next summer, DFW will be preaching the greatness of H-E-B like the rest of the state.
