Over the years, there have been many movies made that are either set in Texas, about Texas, or star someone who is from Texas. Now, it appears Hollywood is heading back to the Lone Star state, this time for a holiday film that will definitely pull at one's heartstrings. It was recently announced that the story of a Fort Worth family that never lost their faith despite becoming homeless will be hitting theaters nationwide this December.
'5000 Blankets' tells the story of Cyndi Bunch and her son Phillip, who collected five thousand blankets for the homeless in a single year after losing their home in the late 90s. According to CW33, Anna Camp will star as Cyndi Bunch in the film. The script was written by Dallas-based screenwriter Larry Postel, who originally heard about their story on a news segment years ago.
"I'm known to be kind of feisty and tenacious and never thought anyone could play me, but Anna Camp nailed me 100%," said Cyndi Bunch about the film. '5000 Blankets' will premiere in 1,200 theaters nationwide on December 12. Thanks to this movie, it will be a DFW family lifting spirits this holiday season.
