Dogs will chase just about anything, sometimes to their own detriment. That’s exactly what happened recently to a family’s dog in North Richland Hills, as it got stuck underneath a shed in their backyard while chasing an opossum. Luckily, police were able to save the dog as seen in a heroic video that recently went viral.
Earlier this month, a 95 pound Rottweiler named Roxie was playing in its home’s backyard at night when it began chasing something around the property. The family believes their dog was chasing an opossum, as the large dog somehow got wedged underneath a shed in the yard. Luckily police arrived at the scene and quickly began trying to remove the shed to save the dog.
According to NBC DFW, body camera footage captured police sawing and prying the flooring of the shed away around the dog so it could get out.
Police claim the dog is now doing fine, though it was a little worked up from the heat and being stuck. Hopefully the dog remembers to avoid the shed next time it starts chasing something in the yard.
