The Wise County sheriff recently announced a huge drug bust thanks to one of their most trusted officers, K-9 Benni. The police dog helped spot the massive haul by alerting police to search the trailer of a pulled over vehicle. In total, officers found 840 pounds of marijuana and 242 pounds of mushroom-laced edible candy bars thanks to Benni’s work.

Over the weekend, Wise County Sheriff, Lane Akin, took to social media to alert residents about a recent drug bust on Highway 287. According to his post, police pulled over a U-Haul van trailer that was swerving from lane to lane and driving on the rumble strips. After the driver and passenger gave different stories, police brought in the K-9 Unit. K-9 Benni quickly alerted its handler to check the trailer, where officers found 31 moving boxes sealed with packing tape.
