NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O'Neal handed out early Christmas presents to shoppers at the Parks Mall in Arlington.
Shaq was surprising customers at JCPenney with $500 gift cards to be used however they see fit this holiday season!
One of the couples that received the gift card, Wendell and Laura Garrett of Fort Worth, knew exactly what they were going to do with the gift.
Wendell, Laura, and their two sons are volunteers at Beautiful Feet in Fort Worth, who run a "Secret Agent" program during Christmas where they gift holiday presents to children and teens whose parents can't afford them.
Laura told WFAA, "I'd been praying like, how are we going to fund this because we've had kind of a hard year financially. I knew that was an answer to a prayer," Laura said. "Right then and there, we knew that's what we're going to use that money for."
As Wendell thanked Shaq for the gift card, he told him how they'd spend it, and he hopes after the gifts are delivered, he can somehow get word to Shaq about how far his kindness can be felt.
"I'd like to tell him he's being used a lot more than what he realizes by the lord," he said.
