Thrill seekers are always looking for the next big thing, and that search may have many traveling to San Antonio soon. That’s because the city is now home to the world’s steepest dive coaster. Over the weekend Dr. Diabolical’s Cliffhanger opened at Six Flags Fiesta Texas and many are already calling it one of the scariest rides ever.
On Saturday, Six Flags Fiesta Texas launched their newest ride that had thousands waiting hours to try it out. Unlike most dive coasters that hold people at a 90-degree angle, the new ride in San Antonio holds people at a 95-degree angle for four seconds before riders drop 150 feet, making it the steepest ride in the world. “The ride is super smooth, and it’s quite thrilling,” said Melissa Wight, who was one of the first to ride Dr. Diabolical’s Cliffhanger.
According to San Antonio Express News, reaches a top speed of 60 mph as it whips riders along 2,501 feet of track. The entire ride lasts 1 minute and 22 seconds. For thrill seekers, this ride is definitely one they will want to try.
