Six Flags Over Texas just delivered some bad news to roller coaster fans, announcing their long anticipated new Aquaman ride would be delayed yet again. Originally slated to open in 2020, delays have pushed the ride’s opening date back years. Now, roller coaster fans will have to wait a little bit longer, as the park announced the ride is now expected to debut in the spring of 2023.

Ever since it was first announced in 2019, Six Flags Over Texas has been hyping fans up for the new AQUAMAN: Power Wave. The ride was constructed in 2020, but the finishing touches continue to be pushed back. The latest reasoning for the delay are supply chain and labor issues, something that has disrupted many industries over the last few years.

“We understand that the delay is a disappointment for our guests and we appreciate their continued patience,” said Sharon Parker, Six Flags Over Texas park president. According to WFAA, the new Aquaman ride will be a steel launch shuttle roller coaster that will replace the former Aquaman Splashdown. Hopefully this is the final delay for the highly anticipated ride.
