With Memorial Day weekend coming up, and summer right around the corner, many are starting to figure out their travel plans for this year. Of course, vacations are almost always expensive, which is why many have been scouring the internet for whatever deals they can find. Now, Southwest Airlines has had to put out a warning, letting customers know a popular deal that has been spreading on social media is actually a scam.

A Facebook page titled “Southwest Air Fans” recently shared a post claiming to be giving away two free tickets by replying with the word “Done” to the comment section. The post received thousands of likes and shares, according to Dallas Morning News, leading to the Airline’s warning. “While we like great flight deals as much as the next airline, this one is unfortunately not real, and wasn’t posted by Southwest Airlines,” Southwest Airlines wrote on their actual Facebook page.

Some were able to see the post was a scam, as it claimed to be for the airlines 69th birthday, when they were actually founded in Dallas 51 years ago. It is unknown how the scam planned to use the likes and shares from the Southwest Airlines post. Hopefully this stops more from sharing the post, and maybe it will inspire Southwest to actually give away some free tickets.
