Employees at several Walmarts in Denton are now wearing body cameras in a new pilot program instituted by the company in an effort to increase employee safety at stores.
Walmart said in a statement to FOX Business, "While we don't talk about the specifics of our security measures, we are always looking at new and innovative technology used across the retail industry."
It was at a Walmart in Denton a customer recently barricaded himself and fired arrows at other customers. It wasn't made clear if this incident was a factor in using Denton locations in this pilot program.
All of the employees will have signage that indicates they are wearing cameras.
