A lot of us have had the misfortune of parking some place we weren't supposed to and be greeted by a parking ticket upon returning to our vehicles.  Hey it happens.

If you happened to be the unfortunate recipient of a ticket while parked on the campus of the University of North Texas, the school is offering you the opportunity to get those fees waived.

The University of North Texas Transportation Services recently announced a new program: Toys for Tickets, a holiday drive where traffic violators can bring in a brand-new toy to help pay for their outstanding tickets.

According to the Denton Record-Chronicle, double the amount of the toy's worth will be used to pay for your tickets; if you bring in a toy that's $50, $100 will be assigned to your fees.

Toys for Tickets will run through December 14. Anyone who has an active parking citation on campus can donate and reduce or eliminate their citation.  The program is only good for up to three citations, mind you.

As of Monday afternoon, the drive had brought in 80 toys for the drive.
