Guitarist Ronnie Wood has unveiled publicly a massive painting that he's created of his band, completed in 2020 along with a number of others, featuring Picasso-like scenes of The Rolling Stones performing -- none of which feature a clothed frontman.

Wood’s painting of the Stones arrived earlier this week at Westfield in the Shepherd’s Bush area of west London on the corner of Wood Lane (nice!) and Ariel Way, a famous shopping district in the city. Titled "Abstract Performance," prints of Wood’s limited-edition piece are available for purchase now through February 14 via ronniewood.com.

"It’s great because they finally discovered I can paint,” Wood said at the unveiling, joined by his wife Sally, on February 1. "Nobody knows I can paint, so we’ve got to make sure that people realize I can," he said, standing next to his painting based on Pablo Picasso’s 1925 work, "The Three Dancers." Wood explained the lack of clothing on frontman Mick Jagger, saying “He’s nude in all of them because I got the original inspiration from a Picasso piece called ‘The Dancers’ and they were all prancing about in the nude. And I thought, why not? You know, it’s a good form of expression."

Wood had also completed a portrait of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh before his passing in April of 2021. "I was going to show it to him," he said. "Then [Prince] William heard about it and he asked me to present it to him at Kensington Palace, and he wants to show the Queen, so I’m very honored."

You can see more of Wood's artwork now on his Instagram account.
