A 9-1-1 call reporting an overdose in Uptown turned into a fatal shooting investigation early this morning.
Pittsburgh Police say someone reported a man overdosing in a car at Vine Street and Fifth Avenue. Acting Deputy Chief Tom Stangrecki says the caller also tried to save the man.
"They administered aid to him using Narcan. When officers and paramedics arrived they discovered the male had actually been shot in side."
The man was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. There are no suspects at this time.
There was an Uber sticker on the car of the victim, police are looking into if the victim was on shift when he was shot.
There are no suspects at this time and investigations are ongoing.
