The City of Wichita, along with partners at Project Hope, HumanKind MinistriesBreakthrough/Episcopal Social Services and St. John's Episcopal Church are hosting a Neighborhood Resources event from 9:30 a.m. –3 p.m. on Monday, April 1 in the parking lot of St. John's Episcopal Church, 402 N. Topeka St at the corner of Topeka and Third Street downtown.

The Neighborhood Resource event will coincide with the closing of the community's emergency winter shelter on April 1. Arrangements are being made to help transport guests of the winter shelter directly to the resource event after they are served breakfast on April 1.

Services for mental and physical health, housing assistance, education, employment, food and meal assistance and more will be available at the resources event to help connect unhoused residents with services.

Plans for next year's winter shelter are being reviewed.

"We continue to work with our community partners on the location for the 2024 winter shelter. We don't have details to share, but we appreciate the providers who helped keep the unhoused community safe this winter," said Sally Stang, Director of the City of Wichita's Housing and Community Services Department.
