One of the men behind the success of Clemson Men's Basketball is leaving for a Head Coaching Job. Assistant Coach Billy Donlon has been a key contributor to Brad Brownell's staff since 2022. Eastern Michigan has hired Donlon as their new Head Coach. Donlon's hiring comes on the heels of EMU parting way with Head Coach Stan Heath.
He previously led Missouri-Kansas City and Wright State and had a 155-133 record over nine seasons. Prior to that, Donlon served as an assistant at Michigan, Northwestern, and UNC-Wilmington.
Eastern Michigan went 10-21 overall and 4-14 in the Mid-American Conference this year, finishing tied for last place in the regular season standings Heath 57-99 record over four seasons with the Eagles. Prior to his time at EMU, Stan Heath served as the Head Coach at Kent State, Arkansas, and South Florida.
Donlon will stay on with Clemson for the time being and will coach Friday as the Tigers take on Iowa.
