A run of 33-7 after the 1st quarter propelled South Carolina to a win over Furman Saturday night in Columbia. The Paladins fell 47-21 at Williams Brice after that big 2nd and 3rd quarter run.

Furman struck 1st with a Dominic Roberto TD run, South Carolina answered with a TD drive and the game was tied at 7 after the 1st quarter. The two teams played even in the 4th.

Furman WR Josh Harris had 6 catches for 73 yards. Gamecock QB Spencer Rattler was 25 of 27 for 345 yards and 3 TD's. WR Xavier Leggette had 6 catches and a score. Former QB Luke Doty now playing receiver, got his 1st career TD catch as a Gamecock.

South Carolina is 1-1 they'll take on #1 Georgia between the hedges in Athens, Saturday afternoon. Furman falls to 1-1 after a win in their season opener. Furman travels to Kennesaw State Saturday for a 5 PM kickoff. You can hear every Furman game all season long on the The Fan Upstate.
