The Atlanta Braves are making coaching changes following an injury plagued and disappointing 2024 season. According to Justin Toscano of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution hitting coach Kevin Seitzer will not return for the 2025 season. Toscano also reports assistant hitting coach Bobby Magallanes and catching coach Sal Fasano will not return in 2025. The Braves will hire two hitting coaches, but will not fill Fasano’s role.
The Braves' offense struggled mightily after a historic 2023 season featuring an MVP campaign from Ronald Acuna Jr. Matt Olson and Austin Riley got off to slow starts that dragged on and Acuna Jr. was once again lost for the season with injury. Seitzer often had to coach a lineup that was missing four or five Opening Day starters.
It remains to be seen how the team will respond to a new voice in 2025 and what the lineup will look like when fully healthy again, but the 2024 version of the Braves will be looked upon as a one that underperformed.
