This past weekend marked the return of the Roughest and Toughest Brawl to the Market At The Mill Events Center in Pickens. Boxing legend Butterbean was on hand and presented the event with longtime fight promoter "Money" Mike Long.
Last year, was the 1st year the event had been in Pickens and it was really well received. The 2nd year seemed to be even better. A capacity crowd was on hand both Friday and Saturday for the two night event.
The Brawl is an "Off The Street Boxing" event that consists of fights that are three one-minute rounds. There were four Men's weight classes and a Women's Division.
The Women's Division was the 1st to determine a champion and opened the Title fight round. Priscilla Yates defeated Samantha Lesley by decision after the fight went the distance.

The Featherweight Title was up next and Thomas Borges won by stoppage after controlling the fight.

The Middleweight Finals then took center stage. Hometown favorite Matt Hendricks of Pickens was able to win by decision over Derrick Cook. It was a tremendous bout and was one-of, if not the best fight of the entire tournament.

In the Light Heavyweight Division it was another incredible fight in the Finals to determine the champion. In the end, Spartanburg native Rontayius Jones got the win over Stephen Machota with a stoppage. Jones has now won two the Brawl events after taking the Title in his weight class when the Brawl visited Waynesville, NC in late January. Jones is 7-0 in the 1st part of 2025 after topping the field in Pickens.

The Heavyweight Division main evented the evening and closed out the tournament. Jordan Roebuck of Anderson was able to get the Title win over Glen Robinson of Slyva, NC.
