College Basketball teams will break out their dancing shoes this week, as local programs travel out of state and Greenville hosts some high level hoops, as well.
Tournament action in the Upstate will tip off Thursday at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville. #1 overall seed Duke will take the floor in Greenville against 16 seed Siena, as part of the East Region. Also, in that region 8 seed Ohio State will take on 9 seed TCU. The winners of those games will meet on Saturday at the Well.
Another area fan-favorite North Carolina will be in action on Thursday in Greenville. The Tar Heels are a 6 seed in the South Region and will take on 11 seed VCU. Three seed Illinois vs 14 seed Penn from the Ivy League will round out the four games Thursday in the Upstate. The winner of those two games will also meet in Greenville, Saturday.
As far as local teams, they'll both be out of state and both be in action, Friday.
Clemson is a 8 seed and they'll travel to Tampa to take on 9th seeded Iowa.
Furman punched their dance ticket by winning the SoCon Tournament. The Paladins will look for a David like upset of goliath. Furman is a 15 seed and will be in Philadelphia taking on perennial power Uconn.
