Clemson Football has cut ties with two assistant coaches. This comes after the program failed to win 10 games this season for the 1st time since 2010.
On Thursday, Head Coach Dabo Swinney announced the dismissal of Offensive Line Coach Thomas Austin and Lemanski Hall who coached the Defensive Ends.
Hall had been with the program since 2018 and was Swinney's roommate at the University Of Alabama. Austin played on the O-Line under Swinney and was elevated to O-Line Coach in January of 2022.
In a press release, Swinney said of Austin's dismissal “I made the difficult decision to seek new leadership for the offensive line.“It is my responsibility as head coach to make difficult decisions that I believe are in the best interest of our football program and the young men that comprise it.”
Hall said after his firing " “I am incredibly proud of what we have been able to accomplish here. I am so thankful for all of the young men that have been in our program. I am excited to see what God has in store for me and my family moving forward.”
The move comes after Clemson finished the regular season with a record of 8-4. The Tigers are awaiting the announcement of their destination for bowl season.
