Clemson got off to a hot start and held off a 2nd half surge to down Louisville 70-64, Tuesday night. The Tigers started strong especially on the defensive end holding Louisville to just 22 1st half points.
Clemson led 34-22 at the break and led by as many as 20 in the 2nd half.The Cardinals rallied late as they outscored Clemson 31-15 in the final 12 minutes. Louisville cut the lead to 6 with 3:35 left, Clemson responded getting two buckets in the next 45 seconds.
The Tigers went 4 of 4 from the foul line in the final 25 seconds to seal the win. The Upstate's own PJ Hall had a team high 25, Chase Hunter added 16. Clemson held Louisville to just 2 of 20 shooting from three point range. The Cards kept it close due largely in part to a 21-4 advantage on the offensive glass.
Clemson is now 14-6 overall and 4-5 in ACC play. They are back in action hosting Virginia Saturday afternoon at 2PM.
