Driver Of ARCA Race Team's Car Hauler Dies In Crash

Crash happened in Texas as hauler was on its way to this week's race in Phoenix

A crash on a Texas highway left the driver of a race team car hauler dead and three others injured. 54 year old, Steven Stotts the driver of the car hauler, for the David Gilliland Race team of the Arca Series died in the crash Tuesday morning.

The Texas Dept. Of Public Safety says Stotts crashed the hauler into a trailer being towed by a SUV on I-20 near the east Texas town of Longview. Two passengers in the hauler were injured in the crash, they were taken to a nearby hospital where they were treated and have since been released. The driver of the SUV was hospitalized and is said to be in stable condition. Gilliland racing is based in Mooresville, North Carolina and the car hauler was on its way to Phoenix for the ARCA race there that is set for Friday.
