Furman and NBA legend Frank Selvy dies at the age of 91

A legendary figure in college basketball has died in the Upstate. Former Furman three time All American Frank Selvy died at his home in Simpsonville, Tuesday morning.

Selvy averaged over 40 points per game and was the 1954 National College Player Of The Year. He went on to be the #1 overall pick in the 1954 NBA Draft and was a two-time NBA All-Star.

Selvy still holds the NCAA single game scoring record when he poured in 100 points in a game vs Newberry.

Selvy is a member of the South Carolina Athletic Hall Of Fame, The Southern Conference Hall of Fame and the Hall Of Fame at Furman. Frank Selvy was 91 years old.
