High school football debuted in the Upstate on Friday night with players all across the county putting on shows for the hometown fans. After the dust settled, there was one player that deserved this week's honor due to their performance on Friday night.
Gabe Rogers, QB for the Byrnes Rebels, went 10-16 with 239 yards on Friday & 5 touchdowns. His stellar performance came against a Greer defense that is led by 8 seniors. Rogers was able to distribute the football to several key players including Collin Imhoff, Ethan Morris, & Mack Long. Not only was Rogers efficient on Friday, he did one thing well in particular, and that was taking care of the football.
Rogers & the Rebels are on the road again this Friday as they take on the Chapman Panthers.
