The Braves are in a rut, again. After Sunday's shocking 9-8 loss to the Rockies, in a game they gave up seven runs in the bottom of the eighth inning, the team has lost seven of their last eight and 17 of their past 27 games.
The team just feels like it's stuck right now.
"Winning is contagious, but losing is even more contagious," Drew Butler said during The Steakhouse on Monday morning. "It is so hard to get yourself out of the thought process of looking around the corner. What's going to happen next?"
"Losing creates its own momentum," Steak replied. "I was there with Chris Sale [on the mound] and the guy had 10 strikeouts in four innings and he's getting raked by the Brewers."
To make matters worse for fans, the Braves are going through this lull whilst playing some of the worst teams in the Majors. The team has gone 3-4 against the Rockies and Marlins, the two worst teams in the National League. Sandwiching those two was a sweep by the Brewers that saw them get outscored 34-12 over three games.
The Braves have dropped seven of their last 10 games and are hanging onto the last wild card spot by only a half-game. They trail the Padres and Diamondbacks by four games and the Phillies in the East by 7.5.
