The newly appointed General Manager of the Carolina Panthers has been a busy man after making two trades, Tuesday. Panther GM and former player Dan Morgan executed trades to acquire draft picks and much needed help at WR.
The Panthers did trade away two-time Pro Bowl Pass Rusher Brian Burns. The New York Giants are sending two draft picks to the Panthers, a 2nd round choice this year and a 5th rounder in 2025.
Carolina also acquired WR Diontae Johnson and a 7th round pick from the Steelers. The Panthers dealt DB Donte Jackson and a 6th round pick to Pittsburgh. Johnson has caught over 50 passes each of the last four seasons.
The Burns deal will also clear up $24 million in cap space for the Panthers. That gives Morgan room to work as free agency has just started.
