Marcell Ozuna has proven his worth this season

Marcell Ozuna connected for his 25th and 26th home runs on Monday night vs the New York Mets. Ozuna has been one of the more unlikely contributors to the team after his sluggish start to the season and history of off-field issues leading into the 2023 campaign. The latest power surge for Ozuna also represents the latest step in his comeback in the eyes of fans and the organization.

Dukes & Bell say the turnaround for Ozuna is something that should be appreciated by all

“Mike, I’m loving what I’m seeing from Marcell Ozuna!” Carl Dukes exclaimed.

“We were worried about him, maybe a little bit of a slide.
He had his little mini slump to start the season and looks like he’s good to go. If I told you he’s batting .250 back in April with all these home runs, no way,” Mike Bell explained.

We probably won’t see Ozuna surpass his career high 37 home runs he had back in 2017, but to see him approach 30 homers on the season after his slow start is nothing short of impressive. He has solidified himself in the DH rotation with Travis d’Arnaud and could find himself with important at-bats come playoff time.
