Memorial held on campus in honor of Furman football player

A memorial service was held Wednesday night at Furman University to honor the memory of Bryce Stanfield. The service was held on campus at Furman after Stanfield died earlier this month, after a collapsing during a workout.

His cause of death was determined to be a Pulmonary Embolism. Over 700 people were said to be in attendance, many of those were Furman students. Many of those in attendance were wearing t-shirt's with Stanfield's number 97 on them and the words #StanfieldStrong on the back.

Furman administrators were able to work with Southern Conference officials to get a SoCon Championship Ring made for Stanfield's service and He was a Defensive Tackle on Furman's SoCon Title team this past season. The ring was presented to Stanfield's parents at the service.
