It was a slow start offensively for Clemson basketball in their 64-57 road loss at Virginia, Tuesday night. The Tigers were held to their 3rd lowest scoring output of the season. Their 23 points in the opening half, matched their lowest 1st half scoring total in any game, this year.
Both teams struggled to shoot the ball. Clemson hit just 42% from the floor and 32% from three point range. Virginia made 41% overall and just 26% from deep.
The difference in the game for Virginia was the offensive glass and turnover margin. The Cavs had a 12-7 advantage on the offensive boards and were plus-three in turnovers.
Upstate native PJ Hall had a game 19, Hunter Tyson added 17, No other Clemson player had more than 7 points. Virginia had four players in double figures.
Clemson is now 21-9 overall and 13-6 in ACC play. They have one regular season game left, as they host Notre Dame Saturday night. The ACC tournament is set to start next week.
